PRP means platelet-rich plasma. As a result of processing one’s own blood, a product that is much more dense and rich in terms of platelets and growth factors than normal blood values is obtained. And then this process is completed by injecting small amounts into the skin.

It is one of the most effective and popular treatment methods among skin rejuvenation methods.

The formation of new collagen in the injected area is accelerated, so the repairment of the tissue begins quickly and strongly and we get the results in a quicker way.

Cosmetic PRP process can be applied on areas such as face, hand, arm, neck and décolleté.

After PRP application, skin rejuvenation and brightness are observed, basic folds on the face, sun and aging scars are softened, and under-eye bags and bruises are slightly healed.

It is used to increase the quality of the scar, to prevent hair loss and to support the surgical procedure after hair transplantation. There are studies on its use in the treatment of diseases in almost every branch of medicine.

In this process, the main goal is to isolate the growth factors released from platelets rather than obtaining platelets. Growth factors work by affecting many other cell groups. A production process is tried to be triggered with these growth factors obtained as a result of PRP preparation.

The procedure begins with blood taking from the patient. Generally, around 10 cc of blood is taken. The amount can be increased in wide application areas. The blood taken into tubes containing sterile, anticoagulant chemicals is centrifuged once or twice according to the characteristics of the kit used. Platelets ,that have reached approximately 5 times the normal concentration with an appropriate amount of plasma and some red blood cells, are taken from the blood that separated into its components as a result of centrifugation. It is homogenized and ensured that there is an equal amount of cells in an equal amount of plasma. PRP is ready for application after activators added to increase the effectiveness.

Since the content obtained with PRP is completely owned by the patient, it does not carry a risk of local allergy and infectious disease. In addition, there is no risk of contamination from the outside, as processes such as blood collection and separation of platelets are performed with the help of a sterile and closed kit. Apart from these, this application is considered reliable as nothing is added to the given platelets.

Anesthesia is usually not required during the process. In patients with low pain threshold, a superficial anesthesia provided with creams or local anesthesia can be applied when it is deemed necessary. It is injected into the target area with very fine needles (30-32 g). Dermapen can be combined with dermaroller and mesotherapy guns can be used. The application takes about 30-45 minutes.

This application cannot be applied to patients who have insufficient platelet count, using anticoagulants or have advanced liver and kidney disease and cancer.
