Filling applications are an aesthetic intervention that is often applied to the face area, to eliminate wrinkles, volume losses and to provide contours.
Especially;
- Lines extending from the wings of the nose to the edges of the lips (Nasolabial lines)
- Lines between the nose and mouth (Philtral lines)
- Lines around the lips
- lines on forehead
- Deep scars and acne scars
- Cheek and cheekbone
- deep line between eyebrows
- Clarification of the lip contour and lip thickening
- Lines on the neck and back of the hand
aesthetic filling applications are made. Filling applications are also used in the treatment of tissue losses and collapses that occur in the body due to accidents or other reasons other than the face. Fillers are quite numerous and varied. They are chemical substances that can be obtained from living tissues of animal origin, human cadavers or by bacterial fermentation, which are synthetically created in the laboratory by chemically. They usually consist of structural substances found in the body or synthetic chemical substances that can replace these structural substances.
Fillers are also classified as permanent, semi-permanent and non-permanent fillers. Each filler has its own advantages and disadvantages. While non-permanent fillers offer shorter-term solutions, the risk of complications is very low. Products containing permanent synthetic particles, on the other hand, have a longer effect, but the allergies and reactions they can cause severely limit their use. For this reason, research continues for products that can be used safely and longer-acting.
Today, the most common and safe filling material is hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. It is found in large concentrations in the skin tissue. It makes the skin look smooth, elastic and young. The decrease of HA under the skin structure over time is one of the most important factors in the aging of the skin, causing the skin to fade, wrinkle and fine lines. Fillings containing HA are prepared in the laboratory environment, they are not of animal origin and the risk of allergic reaction is very low. Therefore, it does not require pre-application testing. Fillers containing HA have a water holding capacity of 100 times its volume in the area where it is applied, with this feature, it provides instant filling of lines and wrinkles.
Fat tissue is a completely naturally derived filler. In fat injection, the patient’s own fat tissue is taken from the appropriate parts of the body, processed and injected into the needed areas. Since it will lose some of its volume after a while, higher amounts of injection are required during oil injection.
Hydroxy apatite (RADIESSE), which is considered among the semi-permanent fillings, is a form of a substance in the bone structure used in soft tissues. It is dense and has large particles, can be used effectively on the cheek line, cheekbone, chin and hands. Its effect lasts up to 24 months.
The majority of the fillers to be injected are prepared in a pre-filled syringe and to be finished in single injections. Very rarely, a few fillers are sold in vials to be administered to a large number of patients. The remaining part of the filler applied to you cannot be used by someone else. The leftover filler can not be applied to another patient.
Before the application, the patient is examined in detail, the area to be filled, the properties of the drug to be used and the amount required are determined in detail.
The application area is first disinfected. Then, anesthetic creams are used to reduce the pain. The filler is applied to the application area with fine needles. The application is not very painful. Aesthetic filler application takes about 10-30 minutes. After the application, the person can return to his social life. There may be redness in the application area for several hours.
Aspirin, anticoagulant drugs, high-dose vitamin c, vitamin e, anti-inflammatory drugs should not be taken within 10 days before the injections of fillers. Some of these products may cause a slight redness in the area where they are applied within 12-24 hours after the injection. Some of the permanent materials may rarely cause painful masses in the late period.
Filling application is not applied to people who have allergy problems to the active substance used. Those who have a systemic disease and regularly use drugs or who regularly take aspirin and similar drugs should inform their physicians before the application. In addition, in herpes infections around the lips, filling application should be postponed until the infection passes. It should not be applied in areas with inflammation and allergic reaction. Filling is not applied to pregnant and nursing mothers.
